Modernization of ICT solutions in Saki Europe

Founded in 1994, Saki Corporation is constantly looking for innovations in electronic technology and semiconductors that are helping us to manage the responsibility to our planet's energy and precious resources. At the same time, its goal is to maintain the high quality and complexity of solutions that it provides.
Searching for new innovative requirements, among other things, keeping pace with modern technologies for business process management. That is why the company decided to implement a new ERP system in Europe - it has chosen Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The German branch of Saki Europe GmbH has already used an older version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009, which is not supported by the manufacturer for a long time. In Saki Europe GmbH, an organizational unit in the Czech Republic has not yet used any ERP system.

The company had several reasons for modernizing ICT and switching to the new system. The main one was the unification and updating of the system used in the German branch of Saki Europe GmbH and Saki Europe GmbH, an organizational unit in the Czech Republic. At the same time, the company wants to take advantage of the deployment of a pure cloud version of the ERP D365 Business Central, and there are several advantages such as:

• access to data, their acquisition, and evaluation from anywhere in the world,
• no costly infrastructure is needed to manage and back up the system,
• high data security,
• continuous provision of the current software version.

The new ERP system will completely cover the areas of finance and accounting, including the required VAT reporting. In addition, the area of sales and purchasing with Intrastat reporting will be provided, as well as warehousing processes. A great added value of the solution is the bookkeeping of the German branch and the Czech organizational unit uniformly under the systemic management of one company. The basic functionality offered by the system - dimensions - is used to differentiate the data of both accounting units. Such separate accounting, although in ERP within one company, will enable the reporting of VAT simultaneously in Germany and the Czech Republic, as well as the registration of documents for Intrastat statements. This is a huge benefit for the daily work of the users of the system, but also for the management of the company from the point of view of management and evaluation of the processes connected with it.

The agile managed project for the implementation of Saki Europe took place from May to July 2021, and currently, the customer is in the support mode after commissioning. The implementation of the new ERP system went smoothly, and the company can already benefit from the related benefits for its users. ICT modernization, in general, is expected to continuously increase production capacity and related processes.
