KOVONA SYSTEM has decided to go with the ERP Microsoft Dynamics NAV from NAVISYS

KOVONA SYSTEM is one of the largest manufacturers of metal furniture in the Czech Republic. In the tender for the acquisition of an ERP they chose NAVISYS as their provider of the enterprise information system Microsoft Dynamics NAV solution with the plug-in BIZ4Elements, which is focussed on manufacturing companies.

The tender for the acquisition of an information system was launched in autumn 2014, and both local and international suppliers were approached for information systems focusing on production. The existing information system had been highly customized for many years. The development and maintenance of the system is complex and challenging, and combined with the lack of capacity of resources on the part of local suppliers together represented a risk for the customer. These reasons led to an open tender for the acquisition of a complex information system.

In addition to covering all the important processes (finance, property, purchasing and sales, inventory control, production planning, controlling and reporting) the company management also required the new system to offer optimal user-friendliness. Emphasis was placed on advanced production features such as graphical production planning and advanced planning optimization (APS). To cover these functionalities PlannerOne Production Scheduler ORTEMS from a French company was proposed, which is fully integrated into the ERP MS Dynamics NAV. An important parameter in the selection of an ERP was also the functional integration with bar code readers in the warehouse. ERP vendor platforms also had to offer proven experience in controlling and reporting, native interconnection with Document Management System and Microsoft products (databases, operating systems, MS Office).

At the end of this demanding tender process, in which there were several presentations and reference visits, we were competing with a local solutions provider. The quality of the international ERP Microsoft Dynamics NAV, extensive experience with production and positive references, ultimately led to a decision in favor of NAVISYS.
